Use a hammer on the heel of the boots. If the boots weren’t wrapped before the hammer, it might have damaged them. Pound the heel and sole of the boot with a hammer for 15 to 20 minutes. Use a rubber mallet instead of a hammer if you’re worried about damaging your Doc Martens. A hammer will rough up the new leather on your Doc Martens.
Apply adhesive over the tear, filling in the hole until it is level with the edges. Allow the adhesive to dry. Once dry, use a fresh cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to blend the adhesive into the edges of the tear. You might need to apply some pressure to do this, so either pad the shoe with newspaper or put your hand inside the shoe.
STEP 1: PREPARE WORKSPACE. Before you get started, it’s worth putting a bit of newspaper down to avoid any unwanted black marks. Then: assemble your kit. Polishing your boots doesn’t take much. All you need is a couple of cloths, some water, a shoe brush and a tub of Shoe Polish. It shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes.

Dr Martens Shoe & Boots Guides. Can Dr Martens Be Repaired. July 25, 2023 Posted by The key steps to breaking in your 1460 Dr. Martens are wearing them for short periods of time, using thick socks or double Docs socks, softening the leather with heat and hand massaging, using a leather conditioner or Wonder Balsam, and using blister bandaids or heel grips if necessary. Unfortunately, we do not have the facility to offer resoling or repair services directly through Dr. Martens. We recommend enquiring with your local cobbler for any repairs. If you believe your product has damage due to a manufacturing fault, please see here for instructions on initiating an assessment. Please note that your Docs are uniquely Suit Up. Forget standard Oxfords and brogues. Nothing gives a suit some extra oomph like lug-sole Dr. Martens. Up the modern, playful factor even more by pairing the look with a crop top, vintage
Yes, you can get Doc Martens restored! With the right maintenance, Doc Martens are known for their sturdiness and can last for many years. However, occasionally the Doc Martens leather ages and tears, the sole degrades, or they simply require a refresh. To help you restore your beloved boots, Doc Martens provides professional restoration services.

If you want a good alternative, and can afford them, I'd have a look at buying Solovair boots. They're made by Doc's old staff, in Doc's old facilities, with Doc's old equipment, as far as I know. I bought a pair for ~£180 about a month ago, so I can't know how.long they'll last, but the quality feels really, really good.
