Answered by Honest John. The TCe 90 petrol suits the Sandero better than the 1.5 diesel. (I found it the other way round in the Clio.) But I have not driven the Stepway with either engine. I think same as the Sandero. A big benefit is that the water-cooled exhaust-driven turbo also heats the car up very quickly in winter.
